If you are changing country of registry from Liberia, or selling a ship that will be changing country of registry from Liberia:

· Please make sure you have contacted the following people:

1. Liberian Registry
2. Old and New Accounting Authority (if changing country of registry).

· Please have ready the following information:

1. Vessel name, call sign, and official number.
2. All IMN numbers to be decommissioned.

· Download and print decommissioning application.

1. Go to Forms/Application page.
2. Click on Request for Deactivation under Print and Fax or Email.
3. Print application.

· Fill out application and send to

A fax/email confirmation will be sent after the request has been processed.

If you are selling a ship to another owner, and NOT changing the country of registry from Liberia:

Old Ship Owners:

Should come to some agreement with the New Ship Owners on the status of the old Inmarsat terminals. (i.e. Will the old Inmarsat numbers remain the same, or will new numbers be applied for?)

If the New Ship Owners choose to keep the old Inmarsat numbers, please contact Liberian Registry of the Change in Ownership .

· If the New Ship Owners choose to apply for new Inmarsat numbers:

· Please make sure you have contacted the following people:

1. Old Ship Owners
2. New Accounting Authority.

· Please have ready the following information:

1. Vessel name, call sign, and official number.
2. All IMN numbers to be decommissioned.

· Download and print decommissioning application.

1.) Should inform Old Ship Owners, Liberian Registry, and Accounting Authority if they would like to keep old Inmarsat numbers.

· If you would like for the old Inmarsat numbers to remain:

1.) Please inform Liberian Registry, the Old Ship Owners, and your Accounting Authority.

2.) Please submit a Change of Ownership application with Liberian Registry.

· If you would like to apply for new Inmarsat numbers:

1.) Inform the Old Ship Owners, and your Accounting Authority.
